Final Fall Card

As November comes to a close, I'm sharing one last Fall card before it's Christmas all the way! I made it for the Gingersnaps Farm Fresh challenge.

The main image is from Artistic Outpost - the Home plate - and I stamped it on a sponged book page background. This is simply mounted on black c/stock and then onto a vintage dictionary page.

Hope everyone in the States had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Quick and Easy Bits and Pieces

Sometimes you need to rustle up some quick and easy cards. That's what I did last week using Rogue Redhead's Bits &Pieces set.

I created this set of cards by punching out squares of my favorite book page backgrounds. I added sentiments from the Bits & Pieces set and mounted them onto Fabriano watercolor cards.

It doesn't get any simpler than that!

The second two use my favorite SU embossing folder called Elegant Bouquet. Sorry for the 'blue' pictures - it rained all last week when I photographed these and there was no light anywhere in the house.

That's all for now. We're heading out on vacation today to my brother's wedding, so I'll have all the wedding stationery to share later in the week plus the travel journal I made for the trip.

Happy stamping,

Ali

Gingersnaps Color Challenge

It's time again for another Gingersnaps Color Challenge and this month we're making creations in all shades of blue.

I spied a piece of blue book page background on my desk, so decided to incorporate it into my challenge card. I bought an Artistic Outpost set called Steam Punk several months ago and it seen ink yet, so I reached for this too.

The book page background included a sequin waste stamp from The Artistic Stamper, so I carried this onto the card base. I kept the rest of the card simple because the main image has a lot of detail and I wanted that to be the focus of the card.

I hope you'll check out the other Design Team creations and play along with our challenge!

Happy Stamping!

Flower Form Art Exchange

The most recent Gingersnap Creations Art Exchange was a flower form. Here's one of the flowers that I made. The flower base was created from a piece of the Book Page Background (tutorial here) and the quote is from Artistic Outpost.

Here's a closer look at the background:

And here are the four flowers all together.

We have another Art Exchange coming on June 3rd - don't miss it!

Book Page Backgrounds

I had a lot of fun writing a tutorial called Book Page Backgrounds on Gingernsnap Creations this week. Here are the cards I created for it.

This is my favorite because I love how the text peeks through behind the silhouette image.

You can see it more closely here:

This flower is made from Grunge Board. I created one of the book page backgrounds on a sheet of GB and ran it through the Big Shot with one of the new Tim Holtz dies. I also made some birds, which I can't wait to find a use for. I inked around the edge of the flower to give some definition.

Finally, this card uses one of my favorite Technique Junkie techniques - Herringbone (Dec 09/Jan10). I used up left over scraps from the different sheets I made to create this herringbone effect.

If you like the look of these backgrounds, head to Gingersnaps for the full tutorial.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!
