Book Pages and Napkins

Angela from the Stamp Man blog showed a great project with napkins last week and the minute I saw it, I knew I had to get out some napkins and play!

But you know me, I had to use old book pages for my project - it's a sickness you understand! I did a quick step-by-step for this card and posted it on my Vintage Page blog, if you want to take a look.

Here's a close up:

I'm entering the card into the Stamp Man collage challenge and Our Creative Corner's Pumpkin challenge.

Thanks for visiting!

Old Book Fun

I adore vintage text and creating projects from old book pages. When I saw "Playing with Books" by Jason Thompson at the bookstore several months ago, I bought it and immediately started ripping up books.

Here's the first project I made inspired directly from the book. This basket took a long time! It involved folding 250+ strips of paper, each four times and then weaving them to create this basket. Patience was the order of the day plus lots of old movies and chocolate. It was fun, but probably not something I'd repeat anytime soon.

This project, on the other hand, I'd be happy to repeat. I rolled pieces of 6" x 6" paper into tubes using a dowel and connected them using bobby pins - so much fun!!

I think you can see the bobby pins a little better in this shot.

Watch out for more these babies! I'd really recommend this book - it has a lot more wonderful projects in it that I'm dying to try. Check it out at Amazon, Barnes & Noble or your local library.

Have a wonderful week,

Ali
