Here's a card I made using the Herringbone technique from the Dec 09/Jan 10 issue of the TJ newsletter for the current Gingersnap Creations color challenge (gold, purple and green).
Instead of using strips of patterned paper, I used 1/2" strips of card stock instead. The purple c/stock (SU Elegant Eggplant)
was run through the Big Shot in an embossing folder and the gold c/stock
is Retro Gold Glossy Lustre by PaperTemptress. For the green pieces, I made a masterboard on SU Old
Olive) with images from Hearts in Touch (Collage It plate) and then cut it into strips.
Once the herringbone piece was assembled, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Top Note die (SU) and sponged around the edges with eggplant ink. The piece of herringbone has quite a lot of contrast in it, so I left quite a lot of white space on the card to make sure the card didn't get too busy. A focal sentiment, gold cord and brads finish up the card.
Thanks for visiting!
